The great classics
Return to the sources of clinical efficiency. How did the elders deal with febrile pathologies and external aggressions? The Shang Han Mon is much more than a history book: it is a method of diagnosing formidable precision, always used by experts from around the world.
Written at the end of the Han dynasty by Zhang Zhongjing, the "treatise of cold shots" is the first book to have structured Chinese medicine around a rigorous clinical approach. It presents the famous theory of the six stages (Liu Jing), which describes how an external pathology (the cold, the wind) penetrates and evolves in the deep layers of the body.
This treaty is a pure gold mine the practitioner. It details the logic of the differential diagnosis and proposes therapeutic strategies based on the balance of Yin and Yang. Although often associated with the pharmacopoeia, its understanding of energy mechanisms is a fundamental basis for any acupuncturist wishing to refine its treatment strategy against chronic and acute diseases.
